Now lets have another Cash for Clunkers for the 19 mpg that they changed so we couldn’t get the first one.
I have 1988 Mazda 929.
It says it get 19MPG but it gets a lot less.
Because of this 1 MPG too many my car does not meet the guide lines.
Is that the last word?
i havein an 1992 honda civic,i only get 13 miles to a gallon that is with a good tune up. i paid 80 dollars to replace my gas filter hoping i would get better then 13 miles to a gallon of gas. the auto parts store plus the honda dealership do not mae parts for 92 honda civic. my roter scew needs to be replaced but nether car parts store or honda dealership go that far back to order. i was told to try to find a screw at the junk yard i might get lucky.i have done every thing advested in tuning up car but still i only get 13 miles to the gallon. my car is in florida but reg. to md it is to expensive to drive 1600 mile when i only get 13 miles to a gallon i pay my car insurance monthly everything is right on the books but my 1992 honda only gets 13 mile per gallon not 26 per gov cash for clanks
I was just told that my “clunker” deal was off because my registration was inactive for 2 days because it failed emissions the first time. The vehicle was registered and insured by me for 6 years continuously except for that glitch! peeuuu!
I have and older car that has actually had the transmission fall through the frame, and my entire exhaust is shot, but the area I live in doesn’t require emission testing… I consider this car to be a “clunker” ready for the scrap yard. However, this car gets 40 MPG. There is not even a comparable car made today that gets 40 MPG! Why not? If it was possible 15-20 years ago why is it NOT being done today? I have always purchased what I considered to be eco-friendly cars before it was even made an issue in America. Why are car makers being allowed to make cars that are less environmentally conscience than 15-20 years ago?
